FUND FOR RELIEF AND DEVELOPMENT
Mission Statement
FRD is an international NGO registered in Colombo/Sri Lanka with the Ministry of Social Welfare and as a non-profit company with the Chamber of Commerce, promoting sustainable development and implementing communication based programmes, mobilizing existing communication networks and creating new ones.
The organization strives to achieve the above mission by implementing the following:
- Supporting the existing communication networks and setting up new ones.
- Training in the use of communication for human development.
Non-formal and Formal educational programmes using all media.
- Providing consultancy services and evaluating communication programmes supporting human development.
- Disseminating research and other information material via internet, newspapers, publications, periodicals, books, magazines, television and radio
promotion of sustainable development.
- Implementing Programmes focusing on uplifting the livelihood of disadvantaged people.
FRD aims at operating in Sri Lanka, Maldives, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Pakistan, East Timor, Kenya and Tanzania
- Promoting Human Security
- Promoting Culture for Peace
- Contributing to MDGs
- Implementing Stress Relief Programmes
The programmes are implemented in association with partner organizations with financial support from international donor agencies.
